Friends, it is crucial for us to understand that the days of the Law and Prophets have passed. You don’t need any man whatsoever to help you reach God except Jesus. This was clearly shown to us when Jesus was transfigured in Matthew 17:1-8, “Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only. (NKJV).”
In the scripture above, we can clearly see the illustration that God was trying to show us. Moses represented the Law, while Elijah represented the Prophets. Peter asked Jesus if they could make three tabernacles: that is, one for Moses, one for Elijah, and one for Jesus, but a voice interrupted him while he was still speaking, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him.” What does this imply? What is God trying to show us here? When the disciples got up, they saw only Jesus. The days of the Prophet and the Law are over; we are now in the days of Jesus Christ and His finished works. We don’t need any prophet or any man to help us connect with God as the prophets did in the days of the Old Testament. Jesus is all we need.
Stop expecting any man to help you reach God; you can reach God by yourself, through Jesus. Stop expecting any man to deliver you from anything; you were already delivered the moment you gave your life to Christ. This does not mean you should stop going to church or reaching out to Pastors for help when in need, but we must be cautious about it. These men of God are supposed to show and teach you from the perspective of the finished works of Jesus. Any teaching that does not reflect Jesus Christ and His finished works or that makes you believe that you need someone to get delivered or stay delivered is not true Christianity.
